A Stoney Creek man faces drunk-driving charges in the wake of a two-vehicle crash in east Hamilton.

On Wednesday at 7:15 p.m., police responded to reports of a suspected impaired driver who was involved in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Ottawa Street and Cannon Street.

Police say a driver rear-ended another vehicle, but no one was injured in the collision.

Officers arrested the driver, who reportedly showed signs of impairment, and took him to the station for a breath test.

Police say he blew three times over the legal blood-alcohol limit.

Later on, investigators discovered the suspect had been refused service at an east Hamilton LCBO not long before the crash.

A 30-year-old Stoney Creek man was charged with impaired driving and released on a promise to appear in court.
