Severe thunderstorms are possible Monday afternoon to evening, which may produce strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain, Environment Canada said.
A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Hamilton and nearby regions Monday afternoon.
Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large cars.
Severe thunderstorms can also produce tornadoes, Environment Canada said.
Environment Canada advises residents to be prepared for severe weather and take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
