Hamilton police are attempting to identify a male suspect whom they believe is responsible for a series of armed robberies during the past 24 hours.

The suspect brandished a knife during two of the robberies, which took place early Thursday morning at a Pioneer gas station on King Street East and a Days Inn located on Main Street East.

The third robbery happened at the Bank of Montreal on James Street North, where the suspect produced a note demanding cash and mentioning he had a gun, although no gun was spotted.

No one was harmed during any of the robberies.

The suspect is described as a white male with a tan complexion, between 5-foot 4-inches and 5-foot 6-inches tall, with a heavy build, and a dark brown goatee and moustache.

According to police, they strongly believe these robberies are linked with a number of other armed robberies that happened overnight.
