Police seized $100,000 worth of fake designer jewelry, clothing, purses and counterfeit  DVDs in a raid of an east Hamilton flea market Sunday.

The RCMP, with the help of the Ontario Provincial and Hamilton police, conducted a sweep at Hagglers Flea Market on Barton Street East near Strathearne.

According to the RCMP, two men, a 45-year-old from Guelph and a 61-year-old from Mississauga, face charges in connection with the sale and distribution of counterfeit goods.

The RCMP said the arrests came as part of a five-month investigation into counterfeit products. The RCMP says the anti-counterfeiting campaign will continue.

"Our primary concern is to ensure the public is not being misled to believe that these goods are legitimate and spending hard earned money on counterfeit items," Steve Martin, an inspector with the RCMP, said in a statement.

The accused are set to appear in court on June 5.
