Police investigating robbery, break-and-enter

A pharmacy was robbed and a harbourfront business was broken into.

Police are investigating two Wednesday incidents, an afternoon robbery and an overnight break-and-enter.

The first occured in the early evening. Around 4:30 p.m., a man and a woman entered a pharmacy on Main Street and Broadway Avenue. The couple's faces were hidden with scarves. The woman had a black handgun and a duffel bag.

She walked up to a staff member and demanded narcotics. The pharmacy worker complied and the couple fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of drugs.

They were last seen entering a getaway car on Broadway Avenue.

Early Thursday, four men broke into a harbourfront business.

A truck pulled up to the front of a commercial building on Hillyard Street at 1:20 a.m.  The four men — all wearing dark clothing — got out of the truck and entered the compound through a fence.

They removed a number of items and put them in the back of the truck.

Police responded to the area and observed the men leaving the property.  The vehicle was last seen in the area of Lawrence Road.
