Police are investigating a potential mobile meth unit discovered on Oak Knoll Park on Mountain Brow Boulevard Saturday evening, leaving one officer with minor burns.

Around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, police were in the area investigating another matter when they noticed a suspicious vehicle, an older model Mercedes-Benz.

"Upon investigation, they located a male and a suspected meth lab in the vehicle," acting Staff Sergeant Andrew Dunlop said.

"During the investigation, the original officer who was on the scene, when placing the accused under arrests, came into contact with his contaminated clothing and received minor burns to the hands. Both he and the accused were treated and hospital and released."

A 37-year-old man is in the process of being charged by police, Dunlop said. A Hazmat team and Hamilton fire attended the scene aiding in the investigation Sunday.
