In exactly 356 days, Pan Am and Parapan Am Games will kick off in Hamilton and 15 other municipalities across southern Ontario.

Close to 7,000 athletes from across Latin America, South America, the Caribbeans and North America will compete in 36 Pan Am sports and 15 Parapan Am sports. Hamilton will be home to the games' soccer competition with 8 women's and 8 men's teams competing here. There are also plans for a lively multicultural festival for the duration of the games.

As the Games near the home stretch with the one-year countdown, CBC Hamilton asked community leaders and business owners what they think the Games can bring to their community, what the Games' legacy would be, and what their hopes are for the Games. Here's what they had to say.
