Police have arrested a Hamilton man on a new kind of child pornography charges for vividly describing the sexual things he wanted to do to a child online.

Members of the Internet Child Exploitation were given a tip about “written child pornography” being posted on a public online chat website, police say.

The man had engaged in an online conversation that fell under a new law that was created in the last year, in which it is now illegal to describe sexual acts with a child in detail, police say.

Over the course of the investigation, officers discovered the man was also accessing child pornography on the internet, police say.

A 27-year-old west Mountain man was arrested and charged with accessing child pornography and making child pornography. He was held for a bail hearing.
