Wanted: 300 steel workers. In Hamilton.

No, this is not a story from the past. There's a hiring fair this Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014.

National Steel Car says increasing demand for tank and freighter cars has put the company on a hiring spree, recalling their laid off workers and hiring an additional 100 workers as well.

No one at the company could be reached for immediate comment, but job postings on show National Steel Car is not just hiring welders, but crane operators, lift truck drivers and more.

National Steel Car is offering a two-week certified training course, and offering wages up to $21 per hour, and full benefits after roughly three months of full time work.

The job fair begins at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, at 602 Kenilworth Ave N, at Barton Street.
