Police have arrested a man in connection with a stabbing that took place at a Boston Pizza in Hamilton Thursday night.

Around 10:30 p.m., police were called to the Boston Pizza parking lot at 1219 Barton Street East to investigate a disturbance.

Police spoke with a number of people alleged to have been in a fight, but nobody involved pressed criminal charges so they left the scene.

Around 30 minutes later police received a 911 call indicating a man had been stabbed on the outdoor patio of the Boston Pizza.

Police went back and found a 27-year-old man who was suffering with a stab wound. He was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries and underwent emergency surgery.

He is now listed in stable condition, police say.

A 29-year-old Hamilton man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and two counts of breach of probation.
