Police have arrested a man who they say allegedly assaulted two cab drivers in Hamilton this week.

Officers were first called about an assault on a driver around Centre Mall around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. A cab had picked up a man who asked to be driven to the mall, but when they got there, the man turned and punched the driver in the face and ran off without paying, police say.

The driver called police, and they found the suspect in the area and arrested him. A police investigation revealed the man had also been involved in a similar incident the day before.

A 38-year-old Hamilton man was charged with two counts of assault and held for a bail hearing.
