A man is charged with stealing two bottles of vodka after he allegedly fled a liquor store and police found him hiding in a shed.

Around 11 a.m. Monday, police were called to a theft at a Main Street East liquor store. When officers arrived, the suspect spotted them, dropped his bicycle and ran away on foot, Hamilton police say.

Officers followed him west to the area of the Delta, where they tracked him north on Belview Avenue. An officer eventually located the man hiding in a shed with a bottle of vodka in the backyard of one of the homes, police say.

A 32-year-old man is charged with theft and possession under $5,000.
