Man dead after serious early morning collision
A man is dead after a serious two-car collision near the airport on Monday morning, Hamilton EMS officials say.
Police were called to Fiddlers Green and Butter Road around 6:20 a.m. Carmen D'Angelo, manager of Hamilton Paramedic Services told CBC Hamilton there were two people involved and one man in his early 20s was trapped inside his car and died.
The man in the other car sustained minor injuries, D'Angelo said.
The northbound and southbound lanes of Fiddlers Green are closed between Butter Road and Book Road for the investigation. Const. Tim Middleton of the police traffic unit said there is no timeline for when the road will be reopened.
"It's a serious accident so it'll be a while," he said.
