Man arrested doing almost double speed limit in stolen car

A Dundas man was nabbed in a stolen jeep doing almost double the speed limit in the city’s north end Tuesday afternoon, police say.

A Dundas man was nabbed in a stolen jeep doing almost double the speed limit in the city’s north end Tuesday afternoon, police say.

Around 1:30 p.m., a Hamilton police officer clocked a Jeep Cherokee going 115 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. The jeep was stopped, and after checking, the officer found it was stolen. The driver was arrested without incident, police say.

A 25-year-old Dundas man was released on a promise to appear with a charge of possession over $5,000, driving with a suspended license and stunt driving.
