The Juravinski Cancer Centre will close Wednesday because of a surprise flood in some parts of the building.

Chemotherapy and radiation appointments have been cancelled. The cancer centre will contact patients scheduled to have treatments on Wednesday, the centre said in a media release.

Staff are assessing the unexpected flood, and the centre will release more information when it's available.

"Any patient with urgent needs or inquiries should directly call their oncologist’s office for further instructions," the centre said.

The flood hasn't affected the Juravinski Hospital. All patient appointments at the hospital will proceed as scheduled.
