The hunt for convicted hostage-taker Jason Boyd is over.
Boyd was arrested around 7 a.m. Friday morning in Hamilton, police say. "He was found based on a tip received from the public," said Detective Constable Brett Anderson of the OPP. "It was great, the public was a big help."
The 41 year old failed to return to a halfway house at 94 York Boulevard Wednesday evening, where he was serving a two-year and nine-month sentence for holding a baby boy hostage in 2009.
Police had issued a nation-wide warrant for Boyd’s arrest.
