A Stoney Creek woman has been charged with impaired driving after she was spotted driving aggressively on the central Mountain, police say.

Around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, police received a call about a person trying to pass other cars on the snow-covered shoulder of the roadway on Upper Wentworth Street by Rymal Road.

Officers found the vehicle pulling into the parking lot of a plaza just off Upper Wentworth. The driver showed signs of being impaired and was arrested and taken to the police station for a breathalyzer, which she failed, police say.

A 62-year-old Stoney Creek woman was released on a promise to appear with charges of impaired driving and over 80.
