It’s a muggy morning out there today. Grab an umbrella on your way out the door as we expect rain showers and possible thunderstorms throughout the day.

If you’re looking to get gas this morning, the cheapest price in the area is listed as 134.9 at the Global at 1294 Hwy 6 and 8th Concession Rd E in Flamborough.

There are four world cup games on tap today, and the biggest comes out of group D from Italy and Uruguay. Winner moves on, loser goes home. Watch the game on CBC TV or live stream it on CBC Sports starting at 11:45 a.m.

The Union Station 7:13 a.m. to Aldershot train is delayed by over 10 minutes this morning. Expect delays on GO buses heading into Toronto because of construction on the Gardiner Expressway.

Police aren’t yet reporting any major issues on area roads this morning.

A secret non-profit organization is interested in buying Hamilton’s historic Auchmar Estate, but councillors have turned down the idea of private negotiations in favour of a public call for offers.

Councillors on the general issues committee narrowly turned down the idea of a special negotiation, despite city manager Chris Murray arguing the nonprofit's offer is significant and unique enough to hold off on the planned request for proposals for the historic mansion.
