Hamilton police arrested seven people on drug and gun-related charges in downtown Wednesday.
Two different search warrants were executed as part of an “ongoing investigation” by the police Gangs and Weapons Enforcement Unit, police say.
The first happened just before 6 p.m. in a downtown apartment. A search uncovered cocaine, cash and a loaded .22 calibre handgun, police say. Four people from Hamilton in their early to mid-20’s were arrested and charged with a host of drug, firearm and breach of probation-related charges.
About 20 minutes later, a second search warrant was carried out at a second downtown apartment. This time, a search uncovered crack cocaine, cash and a sawed-off Remington pump action rifle, police say.
Two people in their early to mid-20’s and a male youth were arrested on drug and firearm charges.
