Hamilton Police are looking for a potential witness in the city’s latest traffic fatality.
The man pictured above may have seen the fatal, fail-to-remain collision one week ago on Sept. 30 at Main Street West and Ray Street South.
An 86-year-old woman died of the injuries from that crash on Oct. 2. Police initially thought a small school bus struck the woman, but that driver got out to attend to the woman. The bus was later ruled out as the vehicle that hit the woman.
The man in the surveillance video was at the intersection moments before the accident happened, and the victim was left lying in the street with serious injuries, police said.
He is described as white with a medium build, wearing a grey T-shirt with ‘Ron Jon’ written on it over a black long sleeve shirt, dark pants and dark work boots.
Police said the man was walking along Main Street and crosses northbound from the southwest corner of the intersection.
The victim is the thirteenth person to be killed in a traffic accident this year.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Constable Wilson at 905-546-4753 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
