Police have release a name and photo of a “dangerous” suspect in a central Hamilton shooting.

Odain Orain Gardner, 21, of Hamilton, is wanted in connection with a shooting outside 12 Tisdale St. N before 5:30 p.m.

A 32-year-old man, police say, arrived to Hamilton General Hospital at around 5:35 p.m. on Thursday with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

“The injury is not life-threatening,” police spokesman Claus Wagner said in a Friday news release.

The victim and friend were seated in a car when a number of suspects approach the car and shot the man, Wagner wrote.

Authorities have arrested 24-year-old woman in connection with the incident and charged her with aggravated assault. They have also issued a warrant for Gardner’s arrests.

He faces one charge each of aggravated assault and discharging a firearm.

Police urge members of the public not to approach Gardner, “as he may be armed and should be considered dangerous,” Wagner said.

He wouldn't say whether Gardner has prior criminal convictions.

But anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Division One detectives’ office at 905-546-3818 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
