The Hamilton Music Awards, Festival and Conference is moving to the spring next year, organizers have announced.

The annual music industry event will take place from May 21 to 24 in 2015 at the Dofasco Centre for the Arts, where the inaugural HMA shows took place in 2004.

The upcoming HMA marks a 20-year journey for the event, which began as Hamilton Music Scene, an unofficial pre-Juno festival, in 1995.

The annual event has featured appearances by Monster Truck, Daniel Lanois, Arkells, The Reason, Ian Thomas, Lighthouse, Eugene Levy, Jackie Washing, Garth Hudson, Teenage Head, Blackie and Rodeo Kings, Whitehorse and more.

The event has given out more than 600 artist and industry awards over the years. The conference part of the event is attended by over 700 students, artists and industry representatives annually.
