A Hamilton man who drove into a building and two cars was one of seven alcohol-related car collisions on the weekend, police say.
The bumper car-like display took place on Elgin Street in downtown Hamilton, at roughly 1:45 a.m. Saturday. Police say the car was seen travelling north along the street before hitting building after which the car continued north and hit another car reversing out of a driveway.
Rather then stop, the initial car then reversed and hit the same car coming out of the driveway, again, and then, still in reverse, hit a second vehicle, this time a parked car.
The 30-year-old driver blew twice the legal limit for alcohol and was charged with impaired driving, police say. He has been released on a promise to appear.
Police said there were no injuries as a result of the incident, which was one of seven impaired driving collisions over the weekend.
