A Hamilton man who told police officers he had a “little bit of weed” in his bag has been charged with a handful of drug-related charges.

Police officers answered a noise complaint around 1 a.m. on May 4 when they saw a man leaving the building. He carried a plastic bag and smelled like marijuana, police say.

When they asked him what he had in the bag, he said “a little bit of weed.”

Police arrested him and found that he had 173 grams of marijuana, three grams of cocaine and cash on him, police say.

The 36-year-old man is charged with possession of marijuana for the purposes of trafficking, possession of cocaine and possession of the proceeds of crime.
