Hamilton man charged after crash involving stolen car
Driver was 'possibly ejected' from the vehicle, sent to hospital with serious injuries: OPP
A Hamilton man faces charges after he was apparently ejected from a stolen car in a Monday night crash.
At around 10:40 p.m. on Monday, Ontario Provincial Police responded to a call about a single-vehicle collision on the Toronto-bound QEW at Burlington Street.
The driver, said OPP Sgt. Dave Woodford, was “possibly ejected” from the car and suffered serious injuries in the crash. Emergency crews took him to hospital.
An investigation revealed the vehicle had been stolen.
Police have charged the driver, a 35-year-old Hamilton man, with possession of stolen property over $5,000 and breach of probation.
Woodford said police are still investigating the collision and haven't determined whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
The accused remains in police custody as he awaits a bail hearing, set for Tuesday morning.
