Hamilton Police Service confirmed Tuesday the assault and robbery of a Hamilton man who was out walking his dog on the trail in the area of Queenston Rd. and Reid Ave.
It was around 1:00 p.m. on March 31 when the 52-year-old was approached by a number of men. One asked if he could pet the dog and the victim agreed. As the man started petting the dog, the victim was struck with an unknown object.
Beyond that point, the victim only recalls hearing laughing and the suspects running away. The victim described one of the suspects who approached him as a white male between the ages of 20 to 25 years old, balding on top with short hair on the sides, wearing a black leather biker style jacket. The 52-year-old victim believes the suspects may have taken money from his wallet.
