Hamilton driver caught with beer in hand, marijuana in car

A Hamilton man was caught driving with a beer in his hand Monday night, police say.

A Hamilton man was caught driving with a beer in his hand Monday night, police say.

Around 6:45 p.m., police say they saw a car in the area of Barton Street East and Ottawa Street North and the driver appeared to have a beer in his hand.

The driver failed a roadside screening device test and was arrested, according to police. Police also found a small amount of marijuana.

The driver was then taken to Central Station where he registered breath samples of 110 mg/100mg.

A 61-year-old Hamilton man was charged with impaired operation, over 80mg, and simple possession of marijuana.
