The boys are heading out to Regina today and are welcoming all Ticat fans to send the team off in true Hamilton style. If you'd like to wish the Tiger-Cats luck ahead of Sunday's game, you can attend the official send-off rally at 4 p.m. this afternoon outside the Tiger-Cats office, 1 Jarvis Street (near King William and Wellington).

DayStarter Commute

All good on public transit this morning. No issues to report on the HSR or GO Transit.

On the highways, the 403 Toronto-bound is moving much better now that the earlier collision at Brant Street has cleared.

In town, the West 5th access is quite backed up at 8:40 a.m, as most of the accesses typically are at this time of day.

Main Street all the way from Dundurn to Victoria is moving quite slowly. King Street from Victoria to James is also slow at this hour.

Here's a map of ongoing construction projects around the city you might run into this morning.

Despite a marked decrease in violent crime in the past year, Hamilton lags behind the provincial average in clearing those cases, a possible indication that it doesn't have enough officers to investigate them.

That was the message to the police services board Monday when Hamilton Police Services staff updated members on the Ontario Municipal Benchmarking Initiative, which marks 15 cities on 43 aspects of policing. For more on what happened at last night's police board meeting, check out the full story.

What a shot. I love the dark clouds in this image Wes Chiasson snapped of Lake Ontario (@WesChiasson) last night.

Ok, step aside Ron Burgundy and your Dodge truck ads. I'm pretty sure you can't do this with your fitted suits and well-manicured hair. Jean-Claude Van Damme did this Volvo Truck commercial in one take. ONE TAKE. Crazy. In fact, I'd like to see a Ron Burgundy spoof of this one.
