Hamilton couple charged for crystal meth possession

Two people were arrested by Hamilton police after police say they were found at an east-end home with handgun replicas and crystal methamphetamine.

A Hamilton couple was arrested and charged for possession of crystal methamphetamine at an east-end apartment.

Hamilton Police officers were conducting an investigation at an apartment building on King Street East near East Street Wednesday evening, police said in a release.

Around 10:30 p.m., officers noticed pry marks on the doors into a unit and went inside. They found a woman and man in one of the rooms with two handguns – one on the floor and the second in between the woman's legs.

The couple was arrested and police say officers later found crystal meth. The handguns were found to be replicas, police added.

A 26-year-old man and 24-year-old woman were charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking.

Hamilton Police are still trying to figure out what the couple was doing inside the apartment.
