A 20-year-old Hamilton-area woman is charged following a police investigation into a three-vehicle collision last week that left two people dead.

Niagara regional police say a woman lost control of her car on a snow and ice-covered road in West Lincoln on March 13, crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with a pickup truck.

After the collision, the pickup crossed the centre line and was struck by a car driven by a 21-year-old Stoney Creek man and carrying a 21-year-old male passenger from Hamilton.

The driver of that car was pronounced dead at the scene, his passenger died later in hospital, and the occupants of the pickup — 57- and 64-year-old men from Wainfleet — suffered serious injuries.

Investigators say the driver of the car that lost control — Roza Omerahmad of Hannon — wasn't injured and was charged Thursday with careless driving.
