Halton and Hamilton police: convicted sex offender living in Burlington
Hamilton police have added their voice to that of Halton Police in warning the public about the recent release of convicted sex and pornography offender Anthony Vincent Burke. He is living in Burlington and has ties to Waterdown.
Hamilton police have joined with Halton police in issueing a warning about a about a convicted sex offender now living in Burlington.
On June 28, 2011, Anthony Vincent Burke was convicted of sexual assault, sexual interference, child pronography and indecent exposure to a person under 16 years of age. The crimes took place in Waterdown in 2004.
Burke was released from jail on April 16 after breaching probation. Part of his restrictions include that he live in the Walkers Line and Medland Drive neighbourhood.
Burke moved to Burlington in November 2012 but he was back behind bars after being spotted at the Tansley Woods Community Centre in Burlingon on February 7.
Burke is described as 71 years of age, white male, 5 foot 10 inches, 175 pounds, short white hair, blue eyes and occasionaly wears prescription glasses. Halton issued its warning on April 17.
Burke was given a number of conditions he has to observe while on probation:
Not attending any restaurant or establishment that has anywhere on its premise an area designed for the use of persons under the age of 16 years.
Email access is only to be for the purpose of communicating with family/friends over the age of 18 years.
That he not use any electronic device to access chat rooms or social networking sites.
