GO Transit will add two new departures to Hamilton on its Route 16 express bus service between Hamilton and Toronto.

The agency announced it will add 1:45 p.m. and 2:15 p.m buses on Fridays from Toronto to Hamilton, scheduled to arrive at the Hamilton GO station at 3:05 p.m. and 3:45 p.m.

As part of other service changes announced Friday, the agency said it is discontinuing its westbound weekday 8:11 a.m. bus from the Aldershot GO station to McMaster University. All changes take effect Saturday.

Buses that had been discontinued during university winter breaks are now up and running again.

The agency is building a new GO train station at 353 James Street North, the first phase of which it says will be operational by summer.
