From hockey to snowboarding and bobsled, here are your 2014 Olympians from Hamilton and Burlington

With the 2014 Olympic winter games officially getting underway in Sochi, Russia, make sure you're familiar with the athletes from the Hamilton area who will be on the ice and the slopes.

Hamilton and Burlington are well represented in the Sochi games, with athletes from five different sports:

  • Brad Martin (snowboarding)
  • Laura Fortino (women's hockey)
  • Jesse Lumsden (bobsled)
  • Marianne Leeson (snowboarding)
  • Tim Randall (bobsled)

As the Sochi Olympics kick off with the opening ceremony Friday, Lime Ridge Mall will host a CBC Olympic viewing lounge for the duration of the Games to keep shoppers up to date.

On Feb. 14, Women's hockey gold medalist Becky Kellar-Duke will also visit the lounge with her medals to cheer on the Games.

Shoppers can meet with the three-time Olympic champion and take photos from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The lounge opens on Friday just in time for the opening ceremony, and it will remain open right up to the closing ceremonies on Feb. 23.
