Flu outbreak hits kidney unit at St. Joseph's Hospital
An outbreak of the flu has hit St. Joseph’s Hospital's kidney unit, sending five patients into quarantine.
As a result of the cases of Influenza A, the hospital has limited visitation privileges to the unit, which is located on the seventh floor of the Juravinski Innovation Tower at the Hamilton hospital’s Charlton campus.
Community members looking to visit patients in the kidney unit are asked to call 905-522-1155 ext. 33224 before going to the hospital.
In a statement last week, the province said it’s not too late to get the flu shot.
The vaccine is available at some pharmacies and walk-in clinics, as well as through family doctors.
