Fire-filled weekend for Hamilton Police
Hamilton Police officers over the weekend may have not made it to the cottage, but they were not denied a campfire.
A pair of suspicious fires as well as a car fire kept police busy in the middle of the night over the weekend, and the Ontario Fire Marshall has been called in to investigate a pair of incidents.
Police say the action started in the early hours of Saturday, with a vehicle fire on Highway 5 West. An engulfed SUV spread to a garage, but was extinguished before flames could damage the attached home.
Later in the night, however, a more suspicious fire on Dartnall Road broke out, completely destroying a home with an estimated $100,000 in damage.
The next night, police say they responded to a vacant house fire near Barton and Gage.
In both incidents, the fire marshal has been called in to investigate.
No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.
