Our fall photo contest had Hamilton photographers, both amateur and professional, coming our to show off the best scenes in our fair city. Winner Peter DiBussolo, a photography student at Mohawk, decided to enter the contest after his girlfriend tipped him off about it.
"After school, we went for a walk on the Bruce Trail near Spring Falls," DiBussolo said. He snapped the picture and entered it on a whim, but was excited to learn his had captured the top votes.
"The atmosphere in Hamilton in general inspires me," he said. "Nobody knows what the city really looks like until you see a photo up somewhere like Devil's Punchbowl."
Originally getting his start in video, DiBussolo made the switch to photography three years ago. Now in his final year of his program at Mohawk, he's quickly building an impressive portfolio.
"I like capturing the right moment and showing what something can turn out to be," he said. "It's a chance to see something beyond just a glance."
