Driver found face down in snow bank, charged with impaired driving
A Stoney Creek man is facing impaired driving charges after police found him face down in the snow outside his car.
Officers were first called to Fruitland Road and Barton Street around 5 p.m. Thursday, where a car had rear ended another vehicle and drove off, police say.
Just as a description of the car was relayed to police, a second call came in about the same vehicle colliding with a snow bank. Officers found the car on Meteor Boulevard in Stoney Creek. The driver was found face down in the snow.
The driver was arrested and taken to the police station for a breathalyzer, which he failed after blowing over two times the legal limit, police say.
A 66-year-old Stoney Creek man was released on a promise to appear with charges of impaired driving and over 80.
