A dispute between acquaintances at an apartment in the area of Melvin and Woodward avenues has resulted in one man being charged with assault with a weapon.
Police were called to the area on Dec. 10 at approximately 6 a.m. where a handful of people, all known to one another, were involved in the argument.
The disagreement escalated and police were told that one man was threatening another with a handgun. When officers arrived, it was determined that the man was carrying a knife rather than a gun, however.
The argument appears to have revolved around the whereabouts of some missing personal property, according to police.
A 36-year-old Hamilton man was arrested and charged with uttering a death threat, carrying a concealed weapon and assault with a weapon. The suspect is being held until he appears before a judge.
