Cyclist seriously injured in downtown Hamilton
Police are searching for a driver in his twenties suspected of hitting a cyclist in downtown Hamilton.
Around 10:30 p.m. Monday, the cyclist was riding northbound on John Street around Charlton Avenue when a dark vehicle turning at John and Charlton hit him, police say.
The cyclist ended up on the hood of the car. The driver stopped and spoke to the cyclist but didn’t remain at the scene, police say.
The 25-year-old cyclist was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The suspected driver of the vehicle is a white male, 20 to 25-years-old, wearing a black Adidas jacket with white stripes on the sleeves.
The vehicle was a dark four-door vehicle with a spoiler.
