Police have identified a 34-year-old Burlington man as the victim of a stabbing that took place on Thursday night in downtown Hamilton.
At around 8 p.m., police responded to a call to an apartment on Tisdale Street South, and found a man who was suffering from a puncture wound.
Crews transported him to hospital, where staff unsuccessfully attempted to revive the victim and he was pronounced dead, police say. At the request of his family, the man's identity will not be disclosed pending the notification of all extended family members, police say.
Police arrested a suspect on Thursday who was interviewed and released. They are not looking for any additional suspects at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
