Brutal winter delays Wild Waterworks opening weekend
The frigid, extended winter Hamilton endured has caused mechanical problems that have forced Wild Waterworks to postpone its opening weekend.
The water park was originally supposed to open this Saturday, June 7, but mechanical problems stemming from the winter have slowed down preseason work. Workers found badly frozen pipes when inspecting the site, says Gord Costie, director of customer service.
Crews are now working overtime to get the facility up and running, he says. “It’s terrible. This really affects everybody — customers, and employees.”
Wild Waterworks will now open on June 14, offering the same $10 opening weekend rate as originally advertised.
“We apologize for any inconvenience, and look forward to seeing you on June 14."
