Bank robber nabbed by Hamilton police
Royal Bank on Upper James St. robbed on Friday
A Hamilton man has been charged in connection with a Mountain bank robbery.
On Friday around 2:15 p.m., a man entered a Royal Bank on Upper James Street near Mohawk Road and passed the clerk a note demanding money.
She did what he asked, and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash, police say.
The suspect then walked out of the bank, and staff promptly called police.
Hamilton police's Break and Enter, Auto Theft and Robbery (BEAR) unit investigated the robbery, and tracked down the suspect to a residence near the intersection of Barton Street East and Wentworth Street North.
Around noon on Tuesday, officers arrested a 32-year-old man and charged him with robbery.
He was held for bail.
