An 89-year-old man is in serious but stable condition after being clipped by a car while cycling Wednesday evening.

At around 9 p.m., city police say a black Nissan traveling southbound on Gray Road North near Highway 8 hit the victim biking in the same direction. The man lost control and fell to the ground.

Police said the vehicle sped off from the location through the lights at Highway 8.

Hamilton police are now trying to track down the driver.

The car is described as:

  • Black Nissan with silver trim around the windows
  • Missing passenger-side mirror casing
  • Last seen southbound on Grays Road. from Highway 8
