Police broke up a knife fight that erupted on the streets of downtown Hamilton early Sunday morning.

Around 3 a.m., police found a group of six men brawling around King Street West and Bay Street South.

Four of the men had been stabbed. Two others from the group took off when an officer approached them, police said.

The officer chased the two, and arrested one of the men. The other one got away.

The other four men were treated for their injuries. One of them, a 19-year-old Hamilton man, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The victims are not cooperating with police so no charges have been laid, they said. Police believe the men all know each other.
