Hamilton police are looking for three men involved in a theft at an Ancaster gas station earlier this year.

On March 21 about 5;20 a.m., three men entered a Shell gas station variety store at 10 Legend Court in Ancaster. The largest of the three men walked to the back of the store saying he need to use the washroom, while the other two men wandered around the store distracting the lone employee, according to police.

But instead of going to the washroom, the man walked directly to an unlocked office area and stayed inside for a brief period, police say. He then left the office and went into the washroom before leaving via the rear door.

The remaining men left the store as well.

It was later discovered that a large amount of cash was taken from the office, according to police.

The three suspects are described as:

  • Suspect 1: Male, middle eastern, heavy built, short black hair, black beard, grey sweatshirt and black pants.
  • Suspect 2: Male, middle eastern, thin, short black hair, black beard, blue winter jacket and black/grey sweater.
  • Suspect 3: Male, middle eastern, thin, black baseball cap, short black hair, patchy black beard, grey sweatshirt and black pants.

Police have released photos of all the suspects.
