Ontario voters will not be headed to the polls in the spring. NDP Leader Andrea Horwath announced Tuesday her party will vote to support the Liberal party  budget.

Horwath said her party will support Premier Kathleen Wynne's budget amendments following the recommendations made by the Ontario NDP.

On Friday, Wynne agreed to the NDP's call for an independent Financial Accountability Officer and new accountability measures in the health care system.

But the premier stopped short of the New Democrats' demand to give the ombudsman oversight of hospitals.

Wynne also said the Liberals would stick to a plan in the May 2 budget to allow motorists without passengers pay a toll to drive in car pool lanes.

The NDP wants what it calls "Lexus lanes" dropped from the budget.

The Progressive Conservatives have vowed to defeat the budget in hopes of triggering an election, so the Liberals need the NDP to make sure the fiscal plan gets approved by the legislature.
