Hamilton police say they have recovered over $62,000 worth of drugs after a bust on the Mountain Thursday morning.

According to a news release, officers carried out search warrants of a home and a vehicle on Upper Ottawa Street in a "busy residential neighbourhood" just after 6 a.m.

Heavily armed Emergency Response Unit officers were brought in, alongside the K9 unit.

Police say they seized:

  • Over 10 pounds of pot with an estimated value of $50,000
  • Over four ounces of cocaine, with an estimated value of $11,400
  • About $1,125 in "shatter" (a cannabis resin product)
  • Brass knuckles
  • $3495 in cash

Police say two people were charged, and an arrested warrant was put out for a third person.

Police say they are facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and marijuana, alongside possession of a prohibited weapon and other charges.
