Man stopped for erratic driving, found with 'large quantity' of cocaine, police say
Hamilton police say they found a "large quantity" of cocaine after stopping a man for driving erratically in downtown Hamilton last night.
According to a news release, a man was driving in the area of Barton Street East and James Street North around 8:30 p.m., when CN police saw him "driving in a manner that was not considered to be safe."
Police say they stopped the car, and found the man had about two ounces of cocaine on him, alongside a "large amount" of cash.
Police say a 24-year-old man is now facing charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, as well as possession of the proceeds of crime exceeding $5,000.
