Government fires Weatherill from Labour Relations Board
Ted Weatherill, the man known for his pricy lunches and bloated expense account has been fired by the federal government from his job as head of the Canada Labour Relations Board.
His dismissal comes just three days after he failed in his court bid to stop the review that led to his firing. Weatherill has been under investigation for his lavish food and travel expenses. Those expenses came out in an Auditor General's report last December.
His food bills totalled almost $150,000 over eight years, including a seven hundred dollar lunch in Paris. Weatherill challenged in court the review of his position. The federal court of appeal sided with the review process.
