A 25-year-old Red Deer woman was killed on Saturday when she was thrown from a vehicle that rolled on the QEII Highway near Ponoka.

RCMP say the victim was travelling with two other people when their car rolled several times into a ditch around 9:15 a.m.

The 26-year-old female driver and a 29-year-old male passenger survived the crash. Both were wearing seatbelts.  Police believe the woman who died was not.

The driver was taken to hospital in Ponoka and later released. The man was not hurt.

RCMP say the road was bare and dry at the time of the crash and the weather was sunny and clear.
